Effects of climate change is here with us and if we do not take action collectively, it will be worse tomorrow. In an effort to sensitize the public on climate action, Mandera Municipality in conjunction with youth groups, KFS, KPS and other stakeholders undertook town cleaning and planting of trees in the Mandera police station. The theme of today’s program is : Building Resilience for a Better Future.

 

We urge the residents of the Municipality and the County in general to take action in their individual ways to mitigate against the negative impact of climate change by planting trees, practicing the 3Rs of solid waste management (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), discourage cutting of trees without replacement, reduce over-grazing and avoid mushrooming of unplanned settlements. 

 

We thank all the stakeholders who participated in today’s event and encourage partnership and collaboration in undertaking such events frequently. Let us all do our part in protecting our environment since we do not have another planet to migrate to.
